Some dogs just need a little time and a little love to show you who they really are.

Marmalade is one of those dogs.

This 7-year-old girl was found abandoned and underweight, scared and unsure about the world around her. When she arrived at the shelter, she was not quite sure what to make of other dogs either.

But after more than three months of care, patience, and plenty of chin scratches, Marmalade has transformed.

Meet Marmalade

Marmalade is around 45 pounds, spayed and possibly a Plott Hound mix. She has gained weight and grown more confident with both people and dogs. She is no longer the scared dog who first walked through the shelter doors.

She loves peanut butter. She loves chin scratches. But what she really wants is something simple: a couch to call her own.

Why Marmalade Deserves a Home

Senior dogs like Marmalade are often overlooked in shelters but they have so much to give. She is past the puppy chaos phase. She is calm, grateful and ready to settle in with a family who will love her.

She has already proven she can adapt. She has already shown she can trust again. Now she just needs someone to take a chance on her.
