Some dogs keep up with neighborhood gossip through the fence.

Rosetti? He prefers to get his news straight from the source: every tree, bush and interesting patch of grass.

This handsome 3-year-old hound has a nose for adventure and takes his sniffing responsibilities very seriously.

To Rosetti, an ordinary walk is really an investigation, and every stop along the way is another fascinating chapter.

Meet the neighborhood's four-legged detective

Rosetti may not be the first dog to rush over and introduce himself.

He can be a little shy at first, and he appreciates having time to settle in and get comfortable.

But give him some patience and a chance to feel safe, and his sweet personality begins to shine.

He's the kind of companion who might be perfectly happy letting the rest of the world make a fuss while he quietly checks out the scenery.

How does he feel about other dogs?

Rosetti is described as tolerant of other dogs, though he generally prefers to mind his own business.

He's not looking to get involved in anyone else's drama.

Unless, of course, that drama involves a particularly interesting shrub.

Then he absolutely needs the full story.

What kind of home would make him happy?

Rosetti is hoping for a family willing to offer love, reassurance and patience while he builds confidence.

Someone who understands that a shy dog may need a little extra time to show who he really is could make a wonderful difference in his life.

And if that family enjoys walks with plenty of sniff stops, even better.

Rosetti isn't asking for a packed social calendar or the latest neighborhood updates.

He just needs people who will help him feel secure, enjoy his curious hound personality and make room for him in their hearts.

Come meet Rosetti at Anderson County PAWS

Rosetti is available to meet at Anderson County PAWS.

Visiting hours provided are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, noon to 5 p.m.

If you've been looking for a sweet, thoughtful canine companion with a detective's nose and a gentle side, Rosetti may be worth getting to know.

After all, every good investigator deserves a place to call home.
